question on the PreSonus AudioBox iTwo

Post by OccinticLady »

Hi all,
It's been a while and I was nog quiet...more has been posted.
However, I bump into the lack of sound quality of the external things.
My setup has evolved somewhat and I start using external things now, such as the Korg Monologue and Vital on an other laptop.
I feed these in a mixer and then from the mixer into the mic of the laptop.
Needless to mention that the quality leaves some to be desired.
I plan to put an audio interface between the mixer and the laptop and use USB as the entry gate for the laptop, and feed the mixer's output to the interface via XLR leads...
Am I correct in assuming this?
Thanks for meditating with me
Melissa

Yes. Just make sure the audio interface can accept a line level on the XLR input. Some may only want microphone level on the XLR but accept line level on a 1/4" TRS Jack. Not a deal breaker it just means that you'll need cables with XLR on one end to plug into the mixer out and 1/4" TRS on the other to plug into the interface. It's still a balanced connection to keep the noise out.
