Drums and AI

Post by jettero »

Hello,

A friend of mine is composing guitar pieces that he sends me. I compose the drums pieces based on the music piece.

I was wondering if there was a software that adds drums by listening to the song?

As there are more and more artificial intelligences, maybe there is one that does that?

Thank !

Why restrict AI to drums? Let it compose everything! In fact, let it handle all conversation here too!

Obviously you would need it for your conversations! Actually I'm not able to compose very technical stuff. I'm a beginner and it would help me to put some percussion on existing pieces...

Well... I didn't think this was a societal problem... I just wanted to know if there are tools like there are for drawing, for example.

Yes, society is going to be turned upside down by technology. We are (unfortunately) in an electronic age, for better or for worse. And we in particular are concerned by technology as we are passionate about the Linux universe.

Good luck to all

Hey jettero,

A"I" is able to compose music in different styles, it's able to create content like "what would Frank Sinatra sound like, if he was in a death metal band?", so why shouldn't there be solution for drummers?
https://musictech.com/news/gear/sony-drumnet-ai/
https://www.drummer.one/
https://github.com/rishit13/Drum_AI
https://magenta.tensorflow.org/drumbot
...i found them on a little duckduckgo search, don't know, how they are or if they run under linux, but they exist.

Currently working with

Fiddling with sequencers does not evolve into music necessarily and Mac users have smelly feet and guzzle little children.

Yeah, I did a little research on youtube, and oh my god, I found some robots drumming - you can integrate these robot drummers easily in your linux based DAW setup.

Music actually played by robots:

To obfuscate, I'll assert I had to google that.
