My second soundscape: Textures

Post by Impostor »

EDIT 30-12-2022: I've removed the track from bandcamp for now. It didn't really fit in with the rest of Autumn Shades EP. It may return someday, or it may not.

Nice to see you've taken to using the term "soundscape", and I think this is a good soundscape for sure. I've listened to the 6th revision of this according to your edits. I get that feeling: You can listen to the song a bunch of times before release, and then feel like changing something immediately after releasing the song.

I make music as Tenaba! Bandcamp Youtube

Sounds great!

You should try the multi out of the kit, that way you can shape and integrate the drums even more. For me, they sound a bit too "hidden".

I wrote a short tutorial for MusE:
https://github.com/muse-sequencer/muse/ ... io-plugins

But all in all, lots of nice sounds in a nice arrangement.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for listening! Yes, I wanted to use the multi-out version, but didn't think it was possible in MusE, so I settled for the stereo one. I'll definitely have a look at your tutorial!

Edit: I followed you tutorial, that was helpful. One thing I don't like about the AVL drum is the maracas and tambourine sharing a port with the cowbell: because their panning is so extreme I have to mono-ise the percussions channels 8+9.

Edit 2: Or I use Calf Stereo Tools to narrow the stereo image!

Thank you for providing the tag:)

At some point I stopped editing my OP. The latest upload to bandcamp was number 13. And I've used nA and nB too..

And thanks for listening!

Yes. Definitely works as a soundscape.

It's a very pleasing little piece. Very friendly and harmless with nicely chosen sounds. The frequencies are well balanced as well. It's kind on the ears. Thanks for sharing!
