RESOLVED: The new AvLinux-MX (wallpaper etc)

Retrying this distro after 3 years, it's XFCE on Debian but I can't figure out

- where/how to set up the desktop background
- how to remove the default status-summary on the right side
- change the guitar pick mouse cursor

Anyone using AvLinux? I know of no other forum, it's said that Linux Musicians is a popular hangout for AvLinuxers.

TIA

It's a little convoluted (for others trying to find it):

Settings-Manager > AVL-MXE Quick Setup > Change Desktop Wallpaper

The system monitor is Conky. Maybe in autostart?
Wallpaper and cursor can be changed in Xfce settings IIRC. I'm not in AVL-MXE atm so can't check for you. Personally I love the default wallpaper. 8)

So do I, just want to clean out the fluff and make it a little smaller center-field, more like my Artix setup:

I prefer a work-oriented desktop with no distractions :-)

I commented conky out in conky-startup.sh:

Code: Select all

#!/bin/sh

if [ x"${DESKTOP_SESSION##*/}" = x"lightdm-xsession" ]; then
   sleep 20s
   killall conky
   #cd "$HOME/.conky/MXDE-Diehard"
   #conky -c "$HOME/.conky/MXDE-Diehard/.conkyrc" &
   exit 0
fi
if [ x"${DESKTOP_SESSION##*/}" = x"xfce" ]; then
   sleep 20s
   killall conky
   # cd "$HOME/.conky/MXDE-Diehard"
   #conky -c "$HOME/.conky/MXDE-Diehard/.conkyrc" &
   exit 0
fi

I kill Conky when doing production too. It polls things constantly. And mine is much more tweaked and intrusive than the stock AVL one.
