can a pc be an offboard effects system?

Post by funkmuscle »

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if I can turn a pc into an effect unit... I mean, take a pc running linux and use it for say reverb with jconvolver.
So instead of buying a rackmount effect like a Lexicon, etc, I'd use a separate pc for that.
Is that possible and if so, how would I do that?

Thanx in advance guys... :D
