I cannot sincerely call myself a musician, I feel a bit like an impostor if I do: I play no instruments, do not perform, know no music theory, use no hardware except for a midi keyboard and pc, and so I've had some doubts about joining linuxmusicians. Even so, some of the tunes I've created the last couple of years probably do qualify as music of a sort, and besides, linuxmusicians.com hosts the forum for MusE sequencer, which I happen to use, so what the hell..
A bit of background: Twenty-five years ago I started out with Impulse Tracker. I tried other programs in the years since, but nothing much came of those. Then in 2018 I discovered the Impulse Tracker clone Schism Tracker, with which I 'rediscovered my muse', for better or worse. In 2020 I ditched Windows in favor of Linux, and have since created a couple of tracks with Schism, and LMMS, before discovering MusE sequencer with their 4.0 release last year. Since then I've used MusE almost exclusively.
About the genre of music I make: I've tagged it on bandcamp as electronic and downtempo, which is probably more or less accurate, even if rather generic.
My latest track: https://devloop0.bandcamp.com/track/threshold-shift
See you!
