The proprietary NVidia drivers are messing up with the realtime scheduling. The driver basically hijacks the CPU resources, leaving bare minimum, for your other needs. I didn't realise how bad it was, until i switched to Intel.I believe you, but would like to see results of tests which prove this please.
Unfortunately, i don't have NVidia card in my system. It was close to a decade ago, when i last owned NVidia. At the time NVidia VGA was the only way to have a correctly functioning 64Studio 2.1 on 1920x1080 screen, playing 1080p videos. If i have the card, i will gladly perform the benchmarks, for the sake of it. If there is someone among you with NVidia + Intel VGA's on the same computer, you can test if my claim still stands. Just make sure that the NVidia card is physically removed, when testing the Intel VGA
