I'm trying on the lastest AV Linux.

Anybody got any tips?

I'm running up against

Code: Select all

ImportError: /usr/local/lib/python3.9/dist-packages/mididings-2015+r4dff3c7-py3.9-linux-x86_64.egg/_mididings.cpython-39-x86_64-linux-gnu.so: undefined symbol: _ZN5boost6python15instance_holder8allocateEP7_objectmmm
when i try to run it.

Might be a boost issue?

I would love some help with this great bit of software!

Cheers
John

Maybe https://github.com/dsacre/mididings/issues/40
One poster reports success on Bullseye, upon which AVL-MXE is based, with one little tweak.

There are a few forks that contain various fixes to the original repo.
I have one in which I collected a few fixes and some of my own:

The solution to your problem mentioned in the previous post is also mentioned in my readme (note that I was using Python 3.8, your version may be 3.9 or whatever).

Hi!

I'am a mididings power user and I have a full procedure of how to compile mididings in a Python 3.1x virtual environment

By using virtual environment, you can have multiple builds of mididings on multiple python version
