Watch Out For Corporate Espionage and Sabotage and Malicious Hacking

Post by tapenade »

Seriously,

As of yesterday, this is at least the 9th or 10th time or more that I've been antagonised and had a recently installed, configured, and improved DAW system hacked and sabotaged. Other times my physical computer, the object itself was stolen.

As you guys know, I had recently increased my online presence and revealed my intentions to share my successful configuration infos here and to finally complete that kind of project for modern DAW computing. Somebody AGAIN, is afraid of us having any success with that. I'm pretty sure my system was sabotaged after it got hacked. First they broke in, watched to see what I was doing for while, and then right before I was about to complete the configuration, after they witnessed both the stability and varieties of advantages, they sabotaged the main operating system to render it dysfunctional and impossible to maintain.

There's no security in working on a breached system. The malicioius hackers want it so they can come in and break your system whenever they feel like it, especially if they think they can ruin any works in progress. I think some of them get off on the idea of allowing you do get all or most of your work done so they can personally destroy it right after you make it. They don't want us to be able to enjoy our own tools, assets, and accomplishments. They don't want us to use our education or gifts from others. They don't want us to own our own things that we already own. Their concept of ownership is completely irrational, illogical and only self-serving.

I need you guys to know this. The timing of the escalation of the breaches and the data sabotage was not random.

During some the earlier attacks against me and my stuff, and us and our online communities, I got the idea that some of these attacks might really be actual examples of corporate espionage, because some company folks might not want anybody to ever be able to enjoy the benefits of FOSS. They seem to fear FOSS because it highlights the hypocrisy and idiocy and expensiveness and inflexibility of mainstream corporate offerings.

Culturally and strategically, America has a long dysfunctional diseased behavior of forcing everyone to do the same things, punishing the ones who find successful alternatives, stealing the inventions of innovators, breaking the tools of the innovators, destroying the data integrity of offerings for the masses, and attempting to ransom back to all of us pieces of our culture that they stole from us and broke--of course at a really irrational high price.

I find that wrapping tin foil around my forehead helps keep me secure from "invasive intrusion".

Don't open any ports to the internet. If you want to run servers put it on a service provider.

Don't let people scare you. In the words of Henry David Thoreau, "Go forth confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined" (Walden).

That depends. If you peruse lots of porn sites, your PC may be better protected by saran wrap.

I think I am safe, because I never ever will get my systems ready, all the time something new coming.

There certainly are evil people and other entities out there. Including corporations. but the obvious culprits, like Microsoft, already have a monopoly, so why would they waste resources on a few Linux users? no payoff there. And the hackers and lone wolves are primarily targeting windows users. you are much safer on Linux just by being on Linux. Beyond that, it's good advice to keep your music rig offline if you think you are being targeted. when I use Windows 7, that's what I do. but I rarely use it anymore. Then there are more secure browsers, sandboxes, even entire operating systems, like Tails. and of course, your own behavior is the most important thing.

I have been targeted myself. Once when I was on a composers' forum, I took a coffee break, and when I returned, someone had hacked me and opened a terminal. I saw them typing "chroot" right before my eyes, before I shut down and wiped the drive with D-ban. It was an old drive anyway with nothing important on it. I suspect they got in because the site still allowed Adobe flash. I subsequently lobbied the administrator to upgrade the platform, which he did, and now there is no more flash player.

When I was trying to get music set up on Linux, I felt at times that something was fighting me. But it was probably just my own ineptitude. As time went on, I figured it out, and have things going well finally. The important thing is to keep going. Nothing can stop a truly determined person pursuing their dream.

A town in the West American steppe. Saloon. At the table sit two cowboys, a local and a visitor, and drink whiskey. Suddenly, someone rushes along the street at great speed, firing revolvers in all directions. There's no one in the saloon with an ear. Local visitor:
- Bill?
- Yes, Harry?
What was that, Bill?
- It was the elusive Joe, Harry.
Why is he called the elusive Joe, Bill?
- Because no one's caught him yet, Harry.
- Why hasn't anyone caught him yet, Bill?
- Because no one wants him, Harry. ==

Thus, the elusive Joe is a character of a well-known anecdote; denotes a person or phenomenon that is known to everyone, but at the same time no one needs.

On the Internet, the elusive Joe can be understood as a person who overstates his own importance in the eyes of others, in fact, he is simply not interesting. For example, a user of the forum wrote a huge delusional post, when this post was not followed by any reaction, states that “no one can refute it.”

I don't know wtf is going on in this thread. And when there's confusion in the mind of someone notorious for inciting bewilderment in others, then it's only a matter of time before Rod Serling reads the closing monologue.
