Did he say anything about me? I don't care if it was a hateful accusation, as long as it was about me, because that's what I'm all about. Right now, it's just Largos and Merlyn saying hateful things about me. I need some more exposure (indoors. The weather is still too cold to be flashing old ladies in the park).

I'll up my game if it's not enough, there's plenty of material to work with.

No more games. The last time I agreed to play musical chairs with you, you wanted to turn the barstools with the legs pointing up.

Thank you raboof...
I'm trying AVL without KDE at the moment. It seems very stable with my hardware and for my use, except for some drivers issue with internal sound and both GPUs, which are very new.
I'll keep using it that way and figure out later if I try KDE.
thank you for your help!
Hi Blindekinder,
As far as hardware support just so you know there is a newer Liquorix 5.16 Kernel in the MX Stable Repo and and even newer Liquorix 5.17 in the MX 'Test' Repo (accessed in MX Package Installer) if you want to see if that improved the hardware support issues..

LXDE has one theme that does not give me a headache from its color scheme (BlueMenta) and it's so old that it ain't compatible with GTK3.
Sorry to nitpick but this is not really the case..
LXDE itself and it's components are aging and yes are still GTK2 but that has nothing to do with supporting GTK3 applications, they are supported by the installed system GTK3 libs. When you run LXDE it uses the GTK2 system libs and when you launch a GTK3 application it uses the GTK3 system libs. When you choose a system theme it will have both themes for GTK2 and GTK3 within it's theme folder and the system will apply your selected theme to both GTK2 and 3 applications. LXDE may not be gaining new features but it is as just as effective as it has ever been.
I personally love that LXDE is static and doesn't keep blowing up like the RAM sucking balloon that XFCE4 is becoming with each new release..

You're right.

I chose my wordings wrong. What I meant is that the 'BlueMenta' theme doesn't have a GTK3 theme. Therefore you get error messages on the command line if you run an application that uses LXDE and that particular theme.
[rant]
I have a very unique frustration with Linux nowadays. After decades they still haven't got it right. GTK2 and Gnome 2 was loved, polished and perfect. They chose to ditch it in favor for Gnome 3 and GTK3. People hate Gnome 3 (it's incomprehensible) so enter LXDE, Mate and what have you not. However those desktops are a Frankenstein of old and new tech (themes from GTK2 for GTK3 etc.). And it don't work perfectly as a consequence. Wayland and 10.000 new compatibility problems are right around the corner and still the old tech don't work properly. All I want is a desktop environment that is as comprehensible in it's configuration as Gnome 2 and with a theme is easy on the eye (like BlueMenta). However, in the theme that I chose the scroll bars on the right-hand side and on the bottom of a window appears when I hover the mouse there. And then the scroll bar obscures text. Sigh... That is just not professional. By the time they fix that we're on Wayland.
And to rant some more. Have you seen Ubuntu "out of the box"? They
still think it's "funny" or something to make everything orange. You get a headache from that. Have you seen Mate? It's green because they think that's funny. You get a headache watching those sharp contrasted colors. And when you change a theme and icon-theme in Mate certain elements and icons are
still green. I find that unprofessional. Makes Linux look amateurish in comparison with Windows and Apple
