Re: Epic Games Acquires Bandcamp
I dunno. They talk a pretty good talk about openness, and both companies have walked a pretty good walk. Epic Games went up against Apple about their closed app platform, and they won. BandCamp has been building its media empire (ok, maybe colony) by deliberately not fleecing musicians. And the article says that BandCamp held out to be purchased by a company that shares its vision.
I think this could be a good thing.

I don't know much about it but it sounds like it could be a really good thing. If it increases general traffic to bandcamp and things remain the same for artists with fees etc then it can only be a good thing. I personally like bandcamp's model both as an artist and a listener so I'm happy for to grow into a viable alternative to spotify.
