SPL measurement
I would like to check the SPL level of my hearing situation, meaning my speakers and my headphones.
I have a measurement microphone I can use for such purpose.
Which software can I use to do an SPL measurement on Linux?
I tried to use open sound meter but it seems to use only pulseaudio, I would rather use jack so that I can use my USB soundcard.

Re: SPL measurement
You need such a SPL meter: https://www.thomann.de/de/digital_sound_8928.htm
With this you then can calibrate your mic. See also e.g. here: https://forums.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=32865
If you have an Iphone + App these are also accurate.

Re: SPL measurement
The Androids have different mics which is problematic when doing Apps. Íf you don't care about +-5dB or so you can also use an Android phone of course.

Re: SPL measurement
ok, that's also good to know.
I do not need a very precise measurement right now, I just wanted to have a rough reference, so Android is enough.
Thanks!

Re: SPL measurement
The Android SPL meter apps I've used generally have a calibration function which requires matching readings with a proper hardware SPL meter. You might get within a few dB without calibrating but they are much better with.
Well, except for my current phone, a Realme 7 Pro which is a midrange device which works really well apart from not being able to display over 90dB!
