Hello, for those who are interested I've been digging up some history.

That shows some of the commercial developments in the big station playlists taking over. I am returning the the raw hip hop roots writing lyrics and making beats that reflect what I have witnessed happening in my society.

I caught some of the Wake Up Show broadcasts before it's demise (?) and it's obviously as legendary as I thought it was. Listening to that really shows to me how sold out the industry has become to playlists, reversed out swear words and recycling rebellion and selling it back to the youth. Ironically the BBC here are one of the few stations that actually leave the swear words in the music although often late at night - Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Annie Nightingale, those kind of shows.

Some station I did not know about. Still checking this out. Mixed bad of styles but seems good.

I am building some underground basis here in Lancaster, UK. Making my own beats in a Linux studio I have just setup (was in Windows), and learning about the classic breaks and records used. I have seen some ugly stuff out here and some humbling courage and survival, but there is little music that I know of that reflects it. I look back at the 90's as the original rawness where I connected with underground hip hop and hope to grow it here.

I have made music and mixes before - see http://myspace.com/djbarney24 - but got attacked for refusing to back down by my lame ass friends who were interested in my music and then attacked me for going through hard times while trying to setup a music label - they wanted me to drop the whole thing and get a job. I know they were just worried but the entire episode revealed a real fear of genuine underground music revealing what is going on in the hidden lower levels of society - the world below.

So much gets forgotten - Remember that time ? Remember that time ? One time for your mind.

Well watch out then, because there gonna be a lot of music coming along soon bringing it up from the street. Ya going to hear about all those stories that never reach the media. It's going to be shocking, humbling and inspiring. It will have a rhyme and and ass shake and it's gonna shake the house.
