Allianz - Röd jul (Swedish dansband)

I think that "dansband" is a fairly local genre, maybe it exists also in Finland, but in Sweden it is a sort of popmusic written exclusively to dance to and to be easy on the ear.
Many years ago me and a friend started Allianz (most Swedish "dansband" groups end their names with a "z", don't ask me why) as a fun thing to do. We wrote two songs and got some gigs, so we hade to write some more songs. The national press wrote about this, and we got more gigs, one at a large Swedish dance music festival. We thought it was quite absurd, but also fun, so we went with the flow. It is strange how you can work with "serious" projects year after year with no recognition, then you do something without much thought, and this becomes kind of a hit!
Our thing was to take this "dansband" music and combine it with leftwing politics. One time, performing in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, I identified the then rightwing PM so I grabbed a copy of our CD and ran to him to give him this hard to get copy. He was very friendly but admitted that it "might not be my kind of music". I was happy that his security guards didn't drop me on the ground!
Although we don't really exist as a physical band anymore, we make a new song every 4th year or so. This is a fun project, and still quite absurd, although I think we are getting better at it (and upping the BPM).
Anyway. We have a new song out, "Tomma paket", "Empty gifts", because this is what we think you get from the ruling social democrats that receive support from the center right.
