That is for friday...as always...
As @LAM suggested "wider"...but I did'nt figure out how to find (let alone use) it in Ardour.
But....that is just a slight hurdle...
Wait 'n hear...

Good tactic...
I learn a lot here...it can be said that I learn from the best
I dropped it (as promissed)...
It took me four days to get it done, but the
result is sopmething.
I have the notion that they're getting more complex...with a dozen-or-so final tracks to juggle about...
I could'nt get Wider to work yet...but, we'll see about that...eager to try it, though

Make sure you added the local VST path in the Ardour VST preferences.
For example if you have installed some VST (2) plugins in your
$HOME/.vst folder you have to add it in "Linux VST2 Path".

I tried to hide it for as long as possible but it's difficult to post screenshots and terminal outputs without being easily discovered.

If you want width, you can achieve it in many ways. A stereo chorus can help, there are many of those. But also you can help with your synthesizers. Either you create a sound that has two layers. Create one sound - or find one sound - that you like, copy it to a different layer - or part in Yoshimi - or whatever the term is. Change it just a little bit and then pan one of the sounds (hard) left and the other (hard) right. It's a good technique for pads and/or strings. If you record MIDI, you can just copy the string track and play the recorded string part on two different synths or sounds and do the panning in your DAW.

Calf Studio Gear has a couple of nice plugins that I use routinely for this kind of thing.
- Calf Multi Spread: Takes a mono input and distributes four frequency bands in stereo space. This one is great for taking a solo instrument and making it fill the sonic space. The result is subtle but very effective. Works best in a less busy arrangement.
- Calf Vintage Delay: A classic stereo echo effect that will put the echoes at hard left and right. Very configurable, and easy to get subtle or not-so-subtle echo effects. I love putting this on voices and guitars, but it works great on synths too.
Even without plugins you can do a ton to fill your sonic space by just stereo panning individual tracks. Dig into this section of the Ardour manual for ideas:
https://manual.ardour.org/mixing/panning/.
Regarding your new track, all I have is a mono speaker in the office so I can't comment on the width. But I'm liking the overall soundscape you made.
