Hello from the lovely city of...

Beverwijk!
Indeed one of the ugliest cities of the Randstad in the Netherlands. But you know what? I like it here!

But on a serious tip, my name is Jeremy, I'm really into music for about 20 years now and I also happen to really like Linux and I embrace the Free Software philosophy. I've been using Linux for about 10 years now, the last 2 or 3 years on an exclusive basis. Also at work, I'm a system and network administrator at the University of Amsterdam. So I know my way around, and since I'm also composing, making and producing music with Linux I might be of a help around here.

Now I got to restring my SG2000 because I will be needing it tonight, got to rehearse with the band :)

Best,

Jeremy

And up!

Just to introduce a new possible LinuxMusician: Lou!

Image

Lou was born on the 9th of May just before noon. He's doing just fine, so does his mom. For the time to come I'd like to enjoy all the time I have with my kiddo and girlfriend so I'm cutting down on my online presence and activities. I'll keep on popping by every now and then though :)

Best,

Jeremy

Congratulations! We just had our first child 3 months ago, so I totally understand where you're coming from in terms of taking breather from the 'nets. That's one of the reasons I haven't been as active around here--but it's all worth it man. The joys of being parent are indescribable.

Congratulations! :) Enjoy!

Be careful, his ears might be sensitive....

(Personally I would be a bit careful post pictures of my child on the internet)

Thanks guys! And concerning posting pictures, I have a very good mentor when it comes to that, so don't worry. Just check her Flickr page and you'll know what I mean.

Ciao Jeremy,

Welcome to Lou :)

This brings me back 3.5. months ago :)
My son is really growing fast now, and it's a lot of fun as he interacts a lot more than at the beginning. You will see, babies go through "mental jumps" and growth spurts and they definitely "tell" you when this happens! I was lucky enough to be 3 months at home without any income decrease. My wife would have had a terrible time otherwise! Things get a lot easier with time ... but the baby personality and situations you may find yourselves in may become more "complicated" ... ;)

Hello thorgal, wish I'd live in Northern Europe too... I got two days. Two days! So I took two weeks off and together with some holidays (Pentecost and Ascension) I can spend a measly three weeks with my newborn and girlfriend.
