Grass in the Pasture

Apologies in advance for this one :lol:

During a surprise visit from @milo the other day, I mentioned that I'm trying to stop being afraid of recording my voice. He gave me some encouragement. I decided that I need to start somewhere, so I today I recorded some silly lyrics.

P.S. The word grass is not used as a euphemism. Don't think too hard about it.

Gosh how much I envy the fact you guys got to hang out: I'd love to meet many of you nice people here someday too!
On the track, it's definitely interesting, and the cathedral organ and reverb make it even more of a solemn occasion than it already is :mrgreen:

I'm so glad that you understood the profound symbolic meaning of the lyrics :mrgreen:

Actually I realized that there is some meaning behind the lyrics. I don't like this cultural expectation of keeping grass well-manicured, so I wanted to get a pet goat to do it for me, but the city doesn't allow pet goats in the residential zoning where I live.

Thanks! I haven't listened to Tom Waits, I had to look him up. Maybe I have some listening homework to do.

I keep thinking that I would like to travel to some other countries, but I hate the idea of just doing all of the tourist trap stuff. It occurred to me that I could visit some members of this small worldwide community and see what life is like behind the tourist façade, and maybe do some jam sessions while I'm at it.

Thanks! I picked some lyrics that would make me laugh instead of cringe while listening to my own voice, but the problem is that it took me a few takes to get through the line about billy goats without losing it and laughing my head off in the middle of it.

Haha!

The BIG voice! Actually the tuning was quite good and Reverb tails were exquisite!? You should use that voice at work and at home (with the Reverb) when you demand full attention!

There's something strangely appealing about the idea of a tour of Europe, coach surfing at various Linux Musician homes :lol:

You can probably imagine how much I've been tempted to set up a JACK signal chain with Dragonfly Reverb between the mic and the Zoom call. :mrgreen:
