Thanks @Basslint, I'm still undecided about the green background on toolbar buttons, the icons contain many colors and they play better with a blue background i guess.

Probably icons need a redesign for this theme, I was thinking about monochrome (or two colors) icons, like Ardour or Zrythm, but this will be quite an effort unless we can find a way to make a bulk conversion.

[EDIT] Pushed Muse theme to gitlab:

@Basslint I saw you opened an issue in the MusE Github about compiling Qtsass.

At the end I didn't use any variable and just replaced rgb( r, g, b) colors with #nnnnnn ones and it worked!

BTW, I think there is a bug in the MusE code drawing the knobs in the Mixer, at center position the line, or the dot, is not in the center, looks like it's a bit on the left, if you want report this bug... I'm not registered on Github.

I guess I have to start to think about Qtractor now...

Maybe I'm blind, but I could not find anything like a button to click to download the theme for Audacity.
All this GIT stuff is much too complicated for the average user.
The only button to download I could find downloads a .png file.
But I want to download the theme for Audacity.
I don't have any use for this .png file.

Audacity themes ARE png files. Cool, isn't it?

You have to put the png file in the

Code: Select all

~/.audacity-data/Theme/
folder.

Then go to the Audacity Preferences > Interface > Theme > Custom.

Let me know if you have problems.

MusE theme looks really good. I now have mine set to it.

I installed to /home/USER/.config/MusE/MusE/themes/ I don't have the folder that you say in your instruction. I use the AppImage though.

Spectacle one is good too, I prefer the fill under the line. I've never used that program before, it's really good

I guess MusE uses system directories for his resources if installed by package manger or compiled (/usr/share/muse-4.0/ or /usr/local/share/muse-4.0/), but i could be mistaken. I had to put the qss file (the main theme) in /usr/local/share/muse-4.0/themes/ directory to make MusE see it, while the cfc (the palette file) could be put in the ~/.config/MusE/MusE/themes or in the system one.

I put a generic PATH in the README because I'm not really sure on how to do it, so I left the user figure it out, if you have a suggestion on how to improve the theme's installation instruction I would gladly correct it.

You are surely more expert than me on that, I'm not a MusE user so... anyway making the theme I started to appreciate its design and got some knowledge on how it works, many things could be improved of course. ;)

I love Spectacle and is much better with the last updates. :)

So you'd prefer to have a filled space with no transparency under the lines?

Not that expert, I realise I haven't actually loaded the qss file :D . I loaded the .cfc file by clicking "load all" in the colours tab and clicking the user section. I

Seems that I cannot select the theme with the appimage because whilst the colours you can select with a file browser, the themes are using a read only folder of the appimage (it mounts in a hidden folder in /tmp)
So you'd prefer to have a filled space with no transparency under the lines?
No, it looks fine as it is. I was comparing with the default look which has no colour under the line.

Committed a new color theme for Uhhyou plugins (https://github.com/ryukau/LV2Plugins):

https://gitlab.com/lam604/audiothemes/- ... in/plugins

Image

I use IosevkaTerm font, you can change to another font by modifying the

Code: Select all

"fontPath": "/usr/local/share/fonts/IosevkaTerm/iosevka-term-medium.ttf",
row in in the style.json file.

Sadly it seems to point to a ttf file instead of resolving the font name:

@Basslint I think something changed in MusE 4.0, because my color theme is not showing correctly (is showing colors from DarkFlat theme). I will investigate if it's just a problem on my machine or something changed in color theming.
