DT770 is good if you need the isolation of closed-back cans, but an open-backed DT990 sounds much better, i.m.o. I have both (250 Ohm versions), but use the DT770 only for gaming.

Very interesting. Tweakers said exactly the same. An open-backed headphone sounds better.

But you will hear more sounds around you, the part why I prefer a closed one.

That's what I use. They're very nice headphones. I like them better than my SennHeisers But, I wish they had a detachable cord.

Open backs or semi-open backs are better for hearing the stereo image because left is able to bleed into right & right into left. This is one reason why monitors are superior for mixing with, assuming you have the ideal room and setup, which most of us do not by a long shot..

I have two AdamTV5 for mixing. And the stereo is indeed, omg.

Always was a big Sennheiser fan, but my gaming headset, although a very good headset is not lasting as long as I am used to with Sennheiser.

Maybe the pro audio stuff from Sennheiser is still as good as it ever was.
The Epos / Sennheiser headset is not.
This is my second one, the first one only had Sennheiser as the brand.

I haven't used anything from Sennheiser. The only mixing headphones I've ever owned are my Beyerdynamic DT880 Pro. I bought these about 9 years ago and have been using them all the time since. They're very comfortable, you can buy spare parts for them from Beyerdyamic last I checked and they sound really good. I've tried lots of other headphones and they always have some kind of horrible distortion, usually in the mid-range. Nothing I've ever used sounds as good or is as comfortable as these. However, I haven't really tried any other high quality mixing headphones, just ones for general use or gaming which don't cost as much so it's not surprising really. I just know that these have served me well. Maybe Beyerdyamic have also lowered their production quality these days. I've no idea. I just know that the ones I have were worth it!
