I want to create some Post-hardcore music from the 2000's but so far I have not found anything like suitable VST's and other virtual instruments on Linux so far. If there is no good ones for Linux then what about ones that can be used with Vestiage from LMMS or Ardour The current distro I'm using is Linux Mint 20.1 for this project.

I can't keep up with all *-core variants. :D
Could you give some examples what you are looking for?

I started off using LMMS but It doesnt seem to work out with its default instrument plugins and lack of support for plugins. I don't get why LV2 is not supported if its a open source format.

I have a piano keyboard that has a line out and MIDI port. I was hoping to accomplish most of the work with Midi and virtual instruments, does it mean I might have to rely on actual instruments to achieve the sound and music I want? I have access to someone's electric guitar but then It brings up having to add and configure a audio interface which I have no experience with. For example this Focusrite Scarlet https://focusrite.com/en/usb-audio-inte ... arlett-2i2

I needed a good electric guitar and drums for virtual instruments. Bass might be covered well enough but It wouldn't hurt to have some extra options.

I know post-hardcore is a bit broad but for the most part I focus from most of the bands from the 2002 and up

LMMS will get LV2 support soon, in the next version (1.3.0). But aside from that, it isn't suited for post-hardcore because LMMS is MIDI-oriented, while post-hardcore is a genre centered on guitar, bass and drums.

I suggest you pick up Ardour and at the very least a real electric guitar. tubeAmp and guitarix are good enough for most guitar effects. I've heard there are proprietary instruments which simulate electric guitars in a realistic way but I don't know any FLOSS ones.

For drums, DrumGizmo and AVL Drumkits are realistic enough.

I've listened to demos of some of the most highly recommended electric guitar virtual instruments. They sound about as good as having SIRI do your vocals. For the cash you have to shell out on these you can pick up a pretty solid used guitar. Computer modelling for tubes, dynamics, modulation along with impulse response for cabinets on the other hand is pretty good. Open source apps like Guitarix are right up there among the best of the best.
