Some pop music, Tänk om

Post by spamatica »

Hi all,

Once more a song in Swedish, sorry XD

For my band Norra Glädjen, we are planning to release a whole bunch of songs during Winter (not much else one can can do with a band right now...), time will tell if that works out.

Tänk om is a little pop/rock song that has went through a bunch of live versions and circled back to mostly the first arrangement.

Everything as always recorded, mixed and mastered with MusE in Linux. I hope you enjoy it :)

What a happy, upbeat tune, just the thing to set a counterpoint to the outside. I always enjoy your vocals. You have a really good voice.
I feel the kick sounds a little boxy or roomy. It's not much of an issue in this clear arrangement, there's enough room for it. Probably just a matter of taste. And I've been known to be particular about my drum likes and dislikes. :)
Nice song! Thanks for brightening a dark night!

Scheesh, thank you! I don't always agree but I have my moments :)
Fun fact, quite late in the development of this recording I decided to sing an octave higher, which is very nearly too high (had to change the melody at some places to remove some very high notes).
I really didn't want to re-record the song in an different key to get it more manageable, so I sort of waited for a day when my voice could get high enough.

Hehe, might be a taste thing sometimes but you are often right in your insights. I recall you had opinions about the kick on Snötäckta fält also (if I recall rightly), and in that case you were mostly right and I have removed some low end for a coming re-release of that song,
For this one, one reason might be the opposite, I have removed too much low end...

In any case I find it is always good to listen again in the light of new input.

Thanks all for listening!

I also must add that there is a very good presence in this song, I can almot see a group of people playing. That is impressive.
