Lars Domino - Christmas record 2020 (alternative, vaudeville, rock)

Every year I make a Christmas single using the persona Lars Domino. This year I involved more people, my friend Mats on guitars, my brother and his eldest daughter on clarinet and flute, and my daughter on kinderklavier. And the single turned into a kind of mini-album (6 songs).
The style is a bit hard to describe. I have Swedish references, but if I have to use some more international (US) ones it might be Tom Waits and Nick Cave.
You can listen to the record on Bandcamp:
https://larsdomino.bandcamp.com/releases (and buy it)
As a LinuxMusicians exclusive

you can also download it for free including a cover to print:

As always with Lars Domino it is a kind of concept album involving his life and journeys and the state of society.
I hope you like it! It was great fun to make.
Produced using: Debian 10, MusE, Surge, AVL drums, Alesis QS8 keyboard, guitars, a flute and a clarinet, and a small kinderklavier (and a small electronic keyboard toy)

I had some time to listen to the whole thing, and I think it's great! I really like Mats guitars on "Asfalt", it provides a really good "texture" to the song. That, and the first track are probably my two favorites. I just love the atmosphere behind them.

Yeah, his playing really saved to mood on that song! He is great to cooperate with - you always get 300% back!

Thanks a lot for listening and commenting! Your comment about "atmosphere" makes me happy!

Finally got around to listening to this.
Quite rough recordings, not always a good thing but for several of the songs it brings out the hard life of Lars Domino
I hear a bit of Lars Demian and Joakim Thåström in this (references that won't mean much to non-swedes), Tom Waits comes to mind too.
Some really cool guitar and harmonica playing in there. I especially liked Asfalt.
Some of the songs might have benefited from being a few bpm faster. The vocals are sometimes a bit "out there", this does not bother me that much, sounds 'in character'

. I think however that the vocals should in general have been mixed a little higher, it is the main instrument in all of these songs.
And a Happy Christmas to Lars Domino!)

That was my aim. More of a live feeling, and I don't like to do many takes (often not more than one), and the demo-singing often becomes the final take!

Also, I can't really play the bass, but I did it anyway.

The name Lars Domino comes from a character in a theater play that Lars Demian once made, many years ago (in the 90s).
