Guitar amps and effects suite.

I recently saw a link to some guitar amps and effects native linux plugins, but I don't find it anymore. First I thought it was from Audiodamage, but it's not. Does anyone know by accident what I mean? Wonder if there's a Black Friday offer.

You're probably thinking of Audio Assault:
https://audio-assault.com/
They had Black Friday offers, but they seem to have some sort for a big sale going on 99% of the time. Those "slashed" prices they have their products with the "discounted" price next to them seem to be just a marketing gimmick, really.
Having said that, it's decent stuff. Mostly IR based, as far as I can tell, but at least the IRs are good.

Any opinions on the various plugins? I rediscovered sigma recently and was very impressed with it. I don't need much in the way of distortion or even overdrive and a lot of the amps seem geared towards this. Sigma doesn't really get clean but I like the minimal cleanish sounds. Is reamp more flexible for clean sounds?

I only played with it briefly but it seems very flexible. I've already saved a couple of presets for a rock'roll sound and a 60s-ish sound using the old Marshall amp IR. I'm not really the target audience for most of their plugins as I don't record metal etc. I do like them a lot though and they're very Linux friendly (I don't buy Windows plugins).
Edit: just received an email -
"RVXX & Sigma have been updated, and upgraded with a bunch of new features. Dual IR Loader, Stomp Section, FX Rack & more. They are sounding better than ever, and if you don't have Sigma or RVXX, you can get them for only $7 until Monday!"

I saw that deal on RVXX so I bought it and I have to say it's really good. Again it's a struggle to get clean sounds out of it, even with the gain at zero there is still some overdrive but it's minimal enough for me I think.

Hi, I'm kind of new to comptuer based recording, so please pardon me if this question is a stupid one.
I was looking at (and listening to) the audio-assualt site. It looks/sounds amazing, and I'm interested... but, I only see plugins and extensions.... So what do we plug them into and extend? Guitarix? Or do they sell a product that drives these plugins/add-ons (I didn't see it, perhaps I missed it)?
I get that you can use plugins in the DAW program itself, but what if you just want to jam? Right now, I'm using guitarix, and I just send it out the back of my focusrite into a marshall amp (no preamp), and out my jcm 1960 cabinet. It works pretty well for just jamming. How do these plugins and addons fit into this scenario?
Again, sorry if it is a stupid question. I'm still figuring this all out.
Thanks.

A partial answer I can give is that the two I bought (ReAmpStudio and Sigma) are plugins but their archive also include a "standalone" application.

Carla is suitable for loading plugins in case you don't need DAW.
