Mmh I think I gonna start with SC... it has OSC so it can be connected with video apps right?
Man I feel that language has 100 top VST plugins and 100 top DAW features

But maybe I don't know enough of it yet....

Puredyne is an distro with all stuff on it...
David Michael Cottle has written an book to learn supercollider. If you want an pdf of it, you have to email him

This document has also a nice first chapter about recording and sound.
If you want to do video with Supercollider like you can do with puredata and GEM I recommend to take a look at fluxus.

I'm using supercollider with pure:dyne linux. I was looking at Processing (processing.org) for graphics. Does fluxus have a way to interact with supercollider? (like Processing's ixi quarks)

IIRC both have pretty good support for OSC, so that might be a reasonable fit.

Don't know about that.

Fluxus has OSC and MIDI support for instance and so yes, supercollider and fluxus should be a (very) good combination...
You can even use Fluxus only as a music tool...
