Great to hear the finished product! I like the vocals, especially the lower ones you did like at 1:15. Thanks for having me on another track!

Thank YOU! It is very rewarding to work with you. That guitar solo is awsome! I hope we can do it again, soon! :)

Apologies for the deleted reply: I was answering on another post and I messed up the tabs
I didn't know you guys had worked together on something! I always enjoy what you both do on your own, and now that you did something together you definitely didn't disappoint. The musical ideas are nice (especially the progression in the refrain), and so are the sounds, with yet another great solo by @crownbird 8)

Yeah, that solo is great! And how it integrates with the music. @crownbird is very talented!

Cooperation is fun and rewarding, and I think, keeps you moving musically.

Thank you for listening and commenting, @Rainmak3r!

This is a great track, wow! @crownbird should be a full-time member

Care to share some info about the vocal and guitar chains?

Also, could not help but see the "Gothenburg" tag. Perhaps you guys owe us a melodeath song? :D

Thanks a lot, @Basslint! @crownbird is very creative and I am happy for his great contributions!

Vocals: Calf compressor, Calf 5 band eq (remove some low end, add hi end), Guitarix GxDOP250 for distortion, Calf Vintage Delay and some Dragononfly reverb (as a send effect = Aux Track in MusE).

Guitar: I made some slight eq alterations on the riffing (+bass - middle +treble), and some chorus on the solo. A tiny bit Dragonfly reverb (send fx) on them all. @crownbird can hopefully tell you what fx chain he used for the sounds.

That is something to strive for! :) I like the sound and arrangements of Dark Tranquility a lot! Stay tuned, and thank you for your enthusiasm!

Thanks guys! Glad you liked how our collaboration turned out! And I am a big fan of melodeath, I'd be down to do something like that, though I've never really been too accurate with faster tremolo riffs you always hear in melodeath; maybe time to practice some more?

As for my signal chain, I think the most important part was the tuning in this case. Rhythm guitar was tuned to ECGCFA#D#, where that's a low, low E1 note on the 7th string. A C2 note (or lower) on the 6th string is needed to avoid having to shift up too high on the low E1 string, as otherwise inharmonicity and intonation issues of tuning that low pop up. I only used a humbucker neck pickup for this.

The plugins afterwards are GxDenoiser (from brummer's github), Calf noisegate, Gx Tubescreamer, GxAmp,and Calf Equalizer.
The Amp settings and profile 6V6 amp, Twin Reverb Tonestack, and 4x12 cabinet. Decent amount of distortion and drive.
The EQ shovelled off a lot of lows, especially the subs. Highs were rolled off a little. Mids were boosted a bit. I realize that's oscillator's EQ changes were basically the opposite of that lol. Though I definitely think those changes improved the sound.

I will surely think more about this, I think it could be great fun. Some of the Dark Tranquility tracks are quite electronic. Song structure is much more complicated though, which is an interesting challenge.

Hehe. Yes, exactly the opposite. But they sounded better in the mix this way! :D

I've never been a fan of melodeath myself, but Dark Tranquillity have always been the exception: while I can't say I like everything they did, tracks like "Single part of two" or "Inside the particle storm" are amazing! And yep, they do mix some cool electronics stuff too in there from time to time.
