The Shimmer sounds really good!

I've never used Guitarix -- how did you do the Shimmer reverb?

Thanks oscillator :D I really appreciate the feedback. I did the shimmer using Shiroverb in conjunction with Modulay. So actually there are two effects going on: Delay and Reverb with shimmer.

Hi Rodney!

Sorry almost missed this, have been busy offline for the past 6 weeks

Great examples, The clean shimmer delay tone sounds huge! The sustain on the high gain tone is really cool too!

Thanks glenn!

Your feedback is much appreciated! I am revisioning the high gain, apparently it´s not as good as I thought :D LOL. That´s why it´s important to hear what you guys I think. But I am pleased that so far the consensus for the Clean sound is thumbs up. Continuing my journey on tone  .

Huge thanks again, without you and trulan (awesome RT kernel!) this wouldn´t be possible.

Dying to trying the new AVL MX edition!

Cheers,

Rodney

Really nice! As a metalhead I'm obviously partial to the high gain one
Are you planning to share them sometime in the future? I'd definitely be interested in giving them a try!

Hi rainmaker,

Thanks for the feedback, I am reworking the high Gain right now, it's getting really good. I'll be uploading a revised version as soon as I am happy with the final result. In order to achieve this tone, you'll have to go through a lot of hassle, but well worth all the trouble. If you are really interested and not afraid of messing with code or building guitarix from source... Let me know, I will explain step by step the main ingredients and from there on you can work on your tone.

Cheers,

Rodney

Ah, no, I don't plan to patch and recompile guitarix. So you're not just working with the existing components to create a preset of your liking? Anything in particular you had to tweak in the code to get what you wanted?

Yes! in order to achieve that fat Marshall sound you need to use the experimental plugin Jcm800PowA, which is a not ready for production yet plugin that simulates the power amp section of the JCM 800, in other words, still experimental. You would have to compile it since it's not distributed by guitarix team but in order to do that, you'd have to install all the dependencies that are required to build guitarix. So yeah, like I said, a lot of hassle but it's worth it IMHO.

Cheers,

Rodney
