@autostatic I'm envious of your turntable. I have a lowly Audio Technica LP5. :D
That new Kurt Vile is pretty good. I never heard of Warpaint, checked it out on YT and I like so far.

Currently listening to Molly Tuttle - Crooked Tree album. Highly recommended especially if you like your grass a little blue. :wink: 8)

Thanks! That LP5 looks great too. Is the casing made out of metal too or just the platter? And is the built-in preamp ok? Bought the Technics second hand in the pre-RSD era. Turned out to be a better investment than crypto :roll:

That's so cool to hear that you checked it out and liked it! Stella Mozgawa from Warpaint does a lot of drums for Kurt Vile, also on this new album.

I think it's mainly plastic but appears to be polycarbonate which is very strong. Seems well damped though. Preamp is good, certainly better than the one in my Soundcraft desktop mixer which I run it through. Haven't tried the USB out.
I got it during a 30% off sale but may have opted for a Rega or Pro-ject at its retail price ($AU799). I had a beautiful Thorens TD160 last century but can't even remember why I don't have it now.

Aaah! I recall working with Courtney Barnett many years ago and thinking that Stella would go places. I'm house engineer at a popular midsize venue in Melbourne, Australia, usually operating monitors for the shows. :wink:

Nice! I'll add it to my list of contenders for a second turntable.

Ran into Rega, will check it out. One of my best friends has a Pro-jekt turntable but he's not very happy with it. But it's an older model, maybe the newer ones are worth checking out too. But I prefer direct drive turntables.

Courtney Barnett is awesome too, got all her records too, including the one she did with Kurt Vile. Kurt & Court, it's a running gag in our household (yeah we love Nirvana too, Hole not so much though) and the record, Lotta Sea Lice, is a family favorite. What a great job you must have, I envy you for that!

I've been listening to Rick Beato lately, interviewing legendary musicians, most of whom I've never heard of.
Picking up lots of tips, wisdom, and inspiration, and enjoying their enthusiasm as they play out the fourth quarter.

Rick weaves his personal story in and out of studios and songs and news stories and friendships,
Lots of emphasis on friendships! 8)

This is his commentary of a Tori Amos EP as it plays, and also some of her related music:
