i use ubuntu (currently in a struggle with their rt kernel)
i've been recording with gnu software for 5 years or so.
i used ardour and hydrogen mostly ....still searching for a midi program i like (i dont believe one exists, i want midisoft v4)
i write tech-metal mostly but i don't discriminate against what comes out when i write.
i guess thats it.

I use to record live performance with my e-drum and midi keyboard into rosegarden.
I use hydrogen / zynaddsubfx for sound synthesis.
