Hi everyone! I'm a old dude trying to recover some time creating music and I've been also a Linux user for almost 20 years.
Recently I bought a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 USB interface and I haven't found a form to make it work on any DAW or plugin.
The result of cat /proc/asound/cards is:
0 [SB ]: HDA-Intel - HDA ATI SB

The soundcard is being recognized, but jack fails loading it.

My computer is an old Toshiba Laptop with AMD E-300, 4gb RAM with Endeavour Os.

Interesting I have exact same error on M-Audio Firewire and on other USB audio interface and I do not think this is interface specific. The devs of jack concluded that it is not their problem and blame systemd.
Runnig Manjaro here ulimits -l returns unlimited, I am in audio group and all other stuff that is usually prescribed and is blatantly irrelevant. Correct outputs are set.
Weird thing is that if I DO NOT use jackdbus but jackd instead exact same settings work - so my guess is that somewhere the dbus interface is not getting the permissions that it should via systemd (v. 244 here) or something, god knows.
I really hate the shift towards dbus mnemonic messaging system across all apps everywhere... awfully inefficient computing, but this is what you get if you let UI designers drive the technology.
