Hello from Florida!

Post by gruffable »

Happy to have found you all. I decided to get back into music as it's one of the few things I've always been able to immerse myself into and block out the rest of the world at the same time...in other words, a great escape for these difficult times! I'm planning to build a DAW on Linux, and I'm stepping up from my vintage Casio CT-670 to a Roland Jupiter-Xm for new capability and fantastic sound. Everything beyond that is still TBD. I'm looking forward to participating here!

Welcome Gruffable!

By "planning to build a DAW on Linux" do you mean that you are starting a new software project? Or that you will be compiling from source one of the currently available ones?

I think in this case gruffable is using "DAW" as a more general term meaning a combination of hardware and software for making music, rather than just the multitrack recording/mixing/mastering app.
