One thousand plugins is a lot. If you spent one minute auditioning each plugin it would take one thousand minutes or roughly seventeen hours. One minute isn't long to get the feel of a plugin. If you spent ten minutes on each plugin it would be possible to audition one hundred plugins in the same seventeen hours.
I think it's good that @milk has collected all the plugins together, and that it is a good reference. How wise it is to install one thousand plugins on your machine is another matter.

@Basslint this particlar list is "automated" from lv2ls, but there is a place for a crowdsourced list of lv2 plugins; the LV2 wiki, feel very free to add a link to the right section for any plugins the page is missing
