Do you know if ST4 will work with Wine-Staging 5+ or does it require lots of fiddly extra dlls and magic spells (hey that rhymes!)

Not to answer specifically the question, I do run ST3 and ST4 (and Miroslav's philharmonic) with wine-4.5 (Staging) and linvst. Although recently - and I haven't looked at it yet - ST4 and Miroslav's are getting MIDI notes in but emit no sound at all. They worked, and now no more sound.

All other IK plugins are working fine.

I am using wine-staging 4.0-rc2-stretch on AVLinux 2018 I find ST4 works fine up to version 4-0-9. I tried to install the Custom Shop version which comes with 4-1-0, but the installer said my version of Windows was too old. So I'm eagerly looking to upgrade to AVLinux 2020 and hoping that ST 4-1-0 will install with that.

I forgot to mention that linvst that I'm using along with wine-4.5 (Staging) is the one from exactly a year ago at github. And so far I stick to that version. I prefer making music than fixing software when it comes to making music. Everything else works fine apart from the sudden silence of ST4 and Miroslav's although some previous sessions having them do work. I'll look at that later on.

There was one instance in which plugins stopped working and to this date I do not know why as I manually do not upgrade/update the system. Then everything started working again fine. I wrote about that here at that time.
