Does Bliss supports disk streaming for large fonts ? Redux doesn't.

I tried this recently. In development and works perfectly. Builds a standalone and LV2.

No, I just come from an experience with sfizz and it didn't work perfectly for me. (See the recent thread about Virtual Playing Orchestra in the "Newbies" section of the forum.) Now I want to find out wether sfizz is the source of the problem or not and for this I want to try out Sforzando.

Thanks to both of you for the suggestions but right now I'd like to try out Sforzando first.

So, if someone could guide me to which Wine version/package I need to install first, do I need to configure Wine? Winetricks? Or just double click on the Sforzando exe and go?

By the way, what is the difference between the Carla-bridges that end on "win" and the ones that end on "wine" in the repos (carla-bridge-win64 vs. carla-bridge-wine64, same with 32) and which one do I need?

Alright, so I installed carla-bridge-win32 and carla-bridge-win64 and with it wine got installed automatically.

I could then install sforzando in wine without any warnings.

Now I can load sforzando vst in Carla Rack. But as soon as I click the little gear icon to open the GUI a warning comes up that says:

This requires the use of Direct2D and either your graphics card or your Windows installation has no support for it.

What do I need to do?

What wine version you have? Looks like Direct2D support has been improved in various versions, and if you are running your distro provided wine, it may be too old. Get from https://www.winehq.org/

I didn't have Wine installed before, it got automatically installed when I installed the Carla-Bridges.

Version is Wine (development version) 3.6-1 from the Bionic repos. (As I wrote before I am on Ubuntu Studio 18.04 with backports PPA).

So, would I have to uninstall existing Wine versions first and then use the WineHQ-Version? Or just install from WineHQ without uninstalling? And which version (stable, development, staging)?

I managed to install wine-staging.

Sforzando GUI is now working. I tried the VPO oboe sample in sforzando -> it does loop.

Hi i have used Sfizz Player (version vst3 or lv2) on reaper 6.25 native gnu linux and mx linux 19.3 system. It work perfect with sfz samples

I can compile it on my Xubuntu 16.04 LTS but it doesn't work in Carla (makes Carla loop) and does the same to Qtractor after a minute or so.

Maybe it needs more recent libs.

Just a quick mention of the SFZ Player module in the Squinky Labs plugin for VCV Rack. It's still in development but it's working with most SFZ files I've thrown at it so far. WAV and FLAC are supported, maybe AIFF too (if not already there).

The first post in the thread was about using Virtual playing orchestra, so the following might be useful.

I recently used Virtual Playing Orchestra and @Michael Willis 's template for Ardour, for my track, Beckfoot Bridge
NB I use Ardour 6, and this github issue helped me.

The Ardour template is amazing IMHO!
