Having some general sound problems

What other apps and distros do you use to round out your studio?

Having some general sound problems

Post by briwood »

Hi LM friends,

I've bent my ubuntu sound config out of shape. I'm kinda stuck. Since this is an ubuntu problem, I've posted here. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=759130

If any of you have any ideas for me I'd be most grateful!

I just purchased a 64Studio DVD - 32 bit version. (I don't have a DVD burner on any of my machines.) I plan to try it out by triple booting XP, Ubuntu and 64Studio. Do you happen to know if the installer is smart enough to find my existing grub and create an entry for the new partition?

I don't think so. The debian installer will detect your current partitions. But, afaik, once you have installed the new OS in a new partition, it'll install a NEW grub loader with all of your OS's.
By the way, 64Studio installer is the same as Debian Etch installer if you want to search for howto's.

Be sure to install windows first on the first part of the partition.

I have very good experience with grub and debian based systems eg ubuntu debian 64studio...

It's fairly simple if you installed Windows first. I would let the Ubuntu GRUB do the talking. Just post your setup (menu.lst) and we will help.
