Lovely work Alan, I could listen all day.

These two sound so different, but look like they are probably the same room. Did you record them differently? Just curious.

Actually it's the same room indeed. The second recording is made with cheaper gear (a pair of Oktava Mk12-01 and a zoom Q8) and a very cheap guitar, in a totally empty room (quite bad reverb). The first video recorded with better gear (a pair of Oktava Mk12-01 in Focusrite 6i6 2nd gen) and a good guitar but this time the room isn't empty (carpet, some furniture and quite a lot of acoustic foam and 2 bass trap). In the latter, I find the sound is way too dry.

I'm working on a compromise between the two to get a good reverb, I'm getting close to a good result. Maybe you will be able to hear it in my next video, hopefully...

Do you know Ron Eschete and George Van Esp?
