Made this track with LMMS on openSUSE.
Used triple os and zynaddsubfx and some vst, T force apha, synth 1, and a mini moog.
Is it trance or is it house, or ?
I am looking for feedback, not happy with the end yet though.
The rest of the track does make me happy.

Thank you, and that was what I was after.
A track that makes you wanna move / dance to the beat.

Nice! I'm curious about an effect I'm hearing from about 2:15 - 2:30, it sounds like some kind of modulation parameter on that lead synth gradually shifts during that time. Would you mind sharing some details about how you did that part?
Also, are you using a real minimoog, or an emulator like Bristol or something?
I mostly do stuff with sampled piano and orchestral instruments, but I'm learning more about synths, specifically Bristol and Zynaddsubfx. I'm hoping that at some point I can do an orchestral/electronic mix.

Thank you.
I have no idea what effect you mean, but I will get back to that.
I used the Minimoog Va vst.
This one.

Now about that part from 2:15 - 2:30
I have three synnth fade out, one not 100%, so it keeps playing ( a zynaddsubfx ). ( one zynaddsubFX, and one synth 1 do fade out 100% )
Then I have the t force alpha vst synth fade in, but I am also using a glame highpass filter on that synth, to create a build-up.
The bell like sounds is synth 1.
For those that want to make trance, the T force apha is something to look at.

The shhhh shhh shhh sound is the triple ossilator from lmms.
The first time I looked at any synth and vst, I was only confused.
Looking at people using real synths, and people using vst, did help me to slowly starting to understand, the basics.
I hope this answer you're question, if not ask again.

Thanks. I think what I was looking for is the combination of the synth that fades out, and the high pass filter. When you say "to create a build-up", do you mean that the freq of the high pass filter gradually drops?

For build ups in edm a high or low pass filer is often used.
The effect like you're riding into a tunnel for an example.
In lmms you drag the filter knob into the automation editor.
Then you draw a graph , on how you want the effect to be applied.
Then you listen and correct the graph, because it will probably not be right the first time.
I hope that makes sense.
The graph I have drawn is like half a sine:
Something like this:
Stretched over 16 bars from the top of my head.
The first part we don't notice in the track so much because the volume is then still very low.
If you use a low pass filter the graph is probably gonna be mirrored.
So a stretched U shape.
