[Solved] Mixbus plugins in other DAWs

I've recently bought Mixbus and was wondering if it is possible to use the plugins that come with it in other DAWs (Ardour, more specifically).
I've tried adding the path where the plugins (/opt/Mixbus-4.2.74/lib/LV2/) but it did not seem to work...

Hi,
Ardour 5 now comes with the Mixbus plugin demos in the official Ardour bundles from Ardour.org, no need to add the ones from Mixbus. To my knowledge they only work in Ardour and Mixbus, Reaper Linux doesn't directly support LV2 and they didn't work in Qtractor last time I checked but to be fair that was at least a year ago.

FWIW, I've had some LV2s running in reaper already using the lv2vst wrapper wrapper, including Harrison's essential plugins, in fact I think all the harrison ones that I tried did work

Interesting! It's possible Carla-rack would work too, I'll have to check out lv2vst.
To clarify but I didn't want to answer the OP and muddy the waters with indirect bridging solutions unless absolutely necessary.

Thanks for the reply! I am using Ardour from KXStudio, so I have no previews (as far as I can see). But, I suppose then, that they should work on Ardour...
I will try again and see if I can figure why it's not (so far). Ardour doesn't seem to recognize them (from the Mixbus installation). I will double check the paths.

Hi,
It is possible that falkTX strips them out for the KX packages but I don't know that for certain, to my knowledge they are ONLY in the official bundles and not in Distribution packages... for instance if you compile Ardour for yourself from GIT (like most Distros would for sure) then they will not be included. KXStudio packages are a bit different as they are modified versions of Ardour's bundles and not compiled... they still may have the Harrison plugins removed though.

You can just safely move the stuff in /opt/.../lv2/ into /usr/lib/lv2/ and it starts working for everyone.
Yes that works! I get some "duplicate plugin" messages, but it seems to be working. (In Ardour and Carla.) Thanks!
