WaveEdit: a cross-platform, open source waveform editor

WaveEdit is a free tool on PC/Mac/Linux that allows powerful creation and editing of wavetables for the E352 and E370 VCOs. Using standard WAV formats, the editor includes a full toolbox of shortcuts. An audio Preview is available to audition the waves before loading into the module.

This looks interesting, think it would go quite well with renoise.
edit: looks like I misunderstood what it does

What I heard sounds very cool, but it seems like you have to have hardware for this. And no, I don't think this is an alternative to Audacity as the subject lead me to think it is until I watch the video.

If I have understood correctly, the program creates wavetables. If we had a Wavetables (WT) synthesizer for GNU/Linux we could load this created WT into it.
