How to upgrade guitarix

Hi all.

I have a laptop with v 0.34 of Guitarix - I'd like to upgrade it, but cannot for the life of me see how. Synaptic seems to think I have the most up to date version, which probably means I have the wrong software repository.

I'm using Ubuntu studio 16.04 - ideally I'd like something CLI based.

Sorry - this may have been covered here before but I can't search for "guitarix" - too common a word apparently.

Any help most appreciated.

If you are using the standard repositories, maybe that is indeed the latest version (they offer). So you can't upgrade to a newer version unless you install it yourself (maybe from GIT) or add KXStudio's repositories (which has version 0.35).

Hi

Adding the KxStudio repository is for sure a good choice, special if you are looking for more recent versions of other software as well.
http://kxstudio.linuxaudio.org/Repositories

For guitarix it comes with git checkouts (which are stable, by the way) from 0.35.5 git

For guitarix releases, I've set up a repository for Ubuntu 16.04 and 16.10 here.
https://software.opensuse.org//download ... =guitarix2

which will always comes with the latest release. Currently it's 0.35.6
The repository's been compatible with each other, so, you'll always get the most actual guitarix version, when you add both.
