DrumGizmo - Browse Button Freezes Plugin GUI

hey guys,
I have used DrumGizmo 0.9.14 in Mint 18.2 with Ardour 5.10 and loved it immensely
now in KXStudio 14.04.5, when I press Browse button, plugin GUI freezes
until I do that, I can switch on/off Humanizer, switch to About tab etc.
also, interacting with frozen GUI sometimes crashes Ardour
does this happen to anyone else?
