Mistic moods
Once again, something that can be played live alone. Playing guitar, using looper from guitar effect.
Some fiddling with sound might be possible, maybe compressor & eq?
Recoding with ardour, video with kdenlive and ffmpeg.

Must watch - about 0:40 into the video, a guy with a yellow t-shirt and an itchy cheek appears in the clouds.
Illuminati at work
Nice landscapes, really; what are the guitar effects, if I may ask?

Basic is Digitech RP255 patch STELLR, lowest sounds looped in RP255, higher played with slide. In bass loop there is also patch VIBRO.forestandgarden wrote:Nice landscapes, really; what are the guitar effects, if I may ask?
Whole output to Zoom MS-70CDR with patch containing Particle Reverb.
Track was recorded live on one take, and plain output of Zoom without further fiddling.
Guitar is in AEAEAE tuning (Metal maniacs therapy tuning ), strings 10-64 (self selected gauges, no such set available)

Re: Mistic moods
The effect I was mostly interested in, was a sort of strong overtone enhancement 1 octave up that seems to be fab in the heavier virtuoso scene today, you can hear it very well in Joe Satriani's G3 live appearances sometimes, and it's an effect I don't know the name of. Of course, looking at your tuning, it could be simply octaves you played. I will try to google around a bit with the info you gave.

Re: Mistic moods
STELLR patch has Flanger, Mod delay and Reverb. Amp model has moderately high gain. And the biggest catch in that patch is Swell, which will eat all peaks, meaning strumming will be silent.forestandgarden wrote:The effect I was mostly interested in, was a sort of strong overtone enhancement 1 octave up that seems to be fab in the heavier virtuoso scene today, you can hear it very well in Joe Satriani's G3 live appearances sometimes, and it's an effect I don't know the name of. Maybe the thing you are looking for is about tuning & range I played. Starting from lowest A (same note as 7-string guitar in Drop A tuning), highest notes 4 octaves higher. And playing with slide also gives something to it. Looper is playing range A1-A2 and melody range A2-A4 mostly.
