Beginning piano / keyboard navigation.

I have started learning to play some piano. I have graduated from Piano Booster to online service (and program) Playground Sessions. I can read notes and know where the corresponding keys are on the piano. I am 2/3 of the way through"boot camp" in Playground Sessions. However, I am experiencing difficulty navigating the piano while following a fast paced backing track or with changing finger positions. I seem to only be able to maintain a very narrow focus on the keys and my knowledge outside that focus goes out the window when trying to complete a lesson. Any advice on techniques and or books to help me maintain my mental map of the keyboard and practice exercises?

Practice practice practice.
Just takes time.
Some day muscle memory will kick in.

Golden rule of practice : play slow and soft. Sharpens the ear, sharpens technique.
That way you train your hands to hit the correct notes and after a while it becomes automatic (muscle memory)

Patience my young grasshopper ;-)
