House Of The Rising Sun cover (yeah, that one)
EDIT: I decided to remove this on the grounds of non-originality.

It's a brave person who covers this one
Ok, but I think you should wind back the reverb on the clean guitar. It gets quite confused especially mixed with the keyboard. (nice tone though)

What it needs is compression. The initial (pick) attack is way too loud. Otherwise, the level would be fine.42low wrote:The electric guitar is to much at the front

Well, since I've deleted Windows from my machine, I didn't learn any proper DAW. I edit MIDI in Rosegarden which goes into LinuxSampler which goes into single Calf reverb and that's it. Here, I've tried to add more effects but since I have to open a separate application for each one except Calf, the QJackCtl patchbay became a labyrinth of connections. I guess I will redo this one with a proper DAW in the future.j_e_f_f_g wrote:What it needs is compression. The initial (pick) attack is way too loud. Otherwise, the level would be fine.

Is this done without real instruments?Lyberta wrote: Well, since I've deleted Windows from my machine, I didn't learn any proper DAW. I've lowered the reverb length from the default setting and that's all.42low wrote:Used in it's standard setting then? Can be regulated to more or less (and more settings) if you wish.Lyberta wrote:which goes into single Calf reverb and that's it.

Pretty impressive for the tools you used to make it, very well executed!
Note that while House of the Rising Sun is in the public domain, a PA copyright does exist of the arrangement of the Animals version (of which yours is highly derivative). If you keep working on it, you might want to create an original arrangement.

Yeah, that's why I don't feel good about it. I may probably remove it from public in the future.ufug wrote:Pretty impressive for the tools you used to make it, very well executed!
