I have a feeling you will appreciate it once you get mixing. There's a lot of goodness in there--you will find yourself needing way fewer plugins than you are used to.
Just in case you haven't browsed it already, the
Mixbus user documentation is top notch and up-to-date. They also have some solid YouTube tutorials covering various elements of the mixer section that are different from Ardour.
