TIRED: Visual issues FL Studio 12-Wine and Studio One 2.

Hey all, I'm having viasual issues on both DAWS mentioned, on FL if I drag a clip to throw into timeline it won't do it and I am left dragging the clip forever, gets stuck to the pointer and forces me to close the program. It is a pain because sometimes while I am working I forget to right click on clips or instruments to send them to timeline or Channel strip insteas (only alternative I found) and so then I have to close and reopen, losing all my work flow.

On StudioOne 2, I cannot see the progress bar/line, the one that moves as the song plays, and also can't see any of the tool descriptions when you hover over them.

I'm on Ubuntu 14.04, Kxstudio, should I switch, any clues?
Cheers.

PS: even thinking of going back to Windows at this point :(

Yeah, seems logical, huh?
Yet, hope is the last we lose, StudioOne is a good daw, if I could just get it to work right.
Have windows on laptop and work there too, but desktop is Linux.

Reaper now has a very functional linux version, and the windows version
runs fine in wine, and has for many years now.

The linux version can utilize the Carla-Rack linux vst,
to host LV2 plugins, among others formats. The LV2 effects
are nice to use with U-he commercial and free linux vsts,
and there are several great LV2 synths to work with.

If you use windows reaper in wine 2.1, or wine-staging, or the wineRT from KX-Studio,
the windows plugin success rate will be very high. Reaper demo
is 60 days unrestricted, and semi-pro license fee is $60,
so a dollar a day during testing, and you're in.

The linux version is an archive, just expand it where you want it, and go.
Find the landoleet website to download the latest version.
Cheers

I would recommend updating your version of wine, there's an official ppa you can use.
Have you tried all/any suggestions on the winedb? You could try searching playonlinux forum. Lastly you could try upgrading your version of Ubuntu, the graphics stack you're using is pretty old now and might be part of the problem.

Thanks, I did, FL is working fine now, but StudioOne still not showing playlist cursor line nor detecting midi kybd. :(
