Opera browser not playing audio over ALSA bridge

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask. Following the Firefox pulseaudio cock-up a few days ago, I ditched FF and installed Opera. Nice browser, but it won't play audio over the ALSA-bridge. My audio setup is ALSA-only. When JACK isn't running, Opera plays audio and video just fine. However when I start JACK, both the audio and video stop working. Does anyone know why?

Nix that. Just as inexplicably, Opera sound is now working fine over the ALSA-jack bridge.

There is one simple way for such problems, this applies to any problems with the software. The first thing you need to do is to reinstall your software. I found a good resource
