Install - alsa-lib & alsa-plugins help

Hi I am new to linux and need help installing alsa-lib-1.1.3 and alsa-plugins-1.1.1. I extract the tarballs. In alsa-lib is an install file. Click on it follow
the instructions. Somewhere in CLI, I type ./configure && make. Then sudo make install. Is there anything else I need to know or do?
Can I install Ubuntu Studio audio instead of doing the above? Does studio have the above alsa files? Thanks.
