DrumMaschine without GUI

Hi @ all,
I'm looking for a drum maschine which
- can run without X
- supports Jack
- in best case it's controllable via MIDI events

Is there any way to run Hydrogen without X? I just want to play a pre created song and adjust bpm and volume via MIDI.
If not, is there any other software which can do this?

yes, Hydrogen is able to run without a user interface. There are the "h2player" and "h2cli" command line programs which might help you...

Is it not that all linux software basicly is build to run without GUI. Where the GUI is only added for the common users?
