Hydrogen as synth playing drum track in Rosegarden?

I need to use a good kick drum sound in a piece but I don't know how to set up hydrogen to work with rosegarden and qJackCtl and other synths ..or if that's possible at all. The track is in rosegarden but the synths I use don't have the right sound (ZASF/ZynAddSubFX & Gen. Midi)
I get as far as setting up Hydrogen in Rosegarden and pointing the track to Hydrogen but that's it...
Thanks

The track in Rosegarden must use a "General Midi Device" (you can rename this) and it is connected to Hydrogen MIDI-in, in the MIDI playback panel in the "Manage MIDI devices" dialog, right? And you can confirm this connection in qjacktl, ALSA (MIDI) tab?
Hydrogen has a kit loaded and its audio outputs are connected to system playbacks, are they?
You draw a segment in this rosegarden track, open the matrix editor and press some "low pitch" notes in the piano roll. Here it is C1 for the kick sound. This is working in a quick test here.

Thank you Pablo
I was obviously doing several things wrong but finally got my act together
What I'm after is the use of Hydrogen as a drum synth to play already written kit tracks in the rosegarden edit which I ultimately replay and record to make a backing track. The short of the long is that I now assign drum tracks to playback and output Hydrogen and that works. I had tried this before but it did not work. What I think I was doing wrong was that I was trying to get Hdrogen to turn into sound notes that were maybe too low. I really don't know, but now I've got everything going.
