I'd say it's being developed slowly, as it already has most of the features the developer considers necessary. Two new features I requested have been added to non-timeline since I started using it: support for W64 files and a larger size for the track height. All it took was a convincing argument why I thought they were worth adding.

This stability is one of the things that I like about it. The constant addition of new kitchen sinks to Ardour, rather than fixing bugs in basic functionality first, was a major contributing factor in my move to something else. (I'm not criticising Paul and team here BTW - it was a rational decision on Paul's part to follow the direction he has with Ardour, given that he makes his living out of it).

as far as i can remember, male, the developer of non-DAW, said/wrote exactly that about a year ago, but i cant't remember where.
